If you visit the city of Aurangabad in the Maharashtra state of India, you will easily reach the World famous Ellora caves that is just a few kilometers away. The UN has designated Ellora caves as the World Heritage site that has 34 caves dug out of rocks centuries ago.
The most famous of the entire complex is the Kailash temple that was carved out of the mountain over a very long period of time by thousands of workers from top to bottom. It means that the entire complex was carved out of solid rock starting at the top and gradually giving its final shape as it is now maintaining its symmetry and very precise architectural and engineering aspect using just primitive tools of hammer and chisel .
What will surprise you is the fact that you will not find any trace of the millions of tons of rock waste that came out of the mountain after the completion of the temple. Where did the workers throw it is a mystery that baffles everybody. I was very impressed by the carved temple and the various figurines under the massive awning although the Muslim invaders damaged some of the intricate carved statues of Hindu Gods. Still, what remains will take your breath away.
There is an underground complex below the temple ground that has been sealed shut by the government after the archeologists found traces of alien technology and some artifacts that remain a great mystery so no one will know what is hidden there and what it all means.

To make a temple from ground up using blocks of stone can make sense because it was the normal practice since antiquity but to carve an entire complex from the top and give shape to an imaginary complex structure is great detail and keeping the form and sheer engineering used in the temple is mind boggling.
